James has always been fascinated by music. He gained an M.A in Music at Cambridge University. This led him to a Masters in Ethnomusicology (World Music) at Goldsmiths College, University of London.

He then began composing, producing and project -managing music full-time for film, television and CD albums. In the past ten years he has worked on more than 100 productions for a range of clients including the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, and numerous satellite channels as well as internationally renowned record labels and multimedia companies.

As composer, songwriter, producer and musician he has worked extensively in dance and rock, traditional, world music, classical and jazz and has performed at major UK live music venues and festivals. He also has wide studio experience producing and sound engineering sessions across the board from rock bands to full orchestra.

A skilled music researcher, James also has a special interest in both traditional and popular musics having researched, written and managed projects in a range of areas from British folk to the latest US rock acts. He is a member of the PRS, MCPS, EFDSS, and the MU.
